By David Bolton, About.com

Definition: MSDN is short for MicroSoft Developer Network. It is the part of Microsoft that provides documentation, support and software for developers creating software with Microsoft products.

Developers can access this documentation locally or on Microsoft's website.

If you are intending to do the C++ or C# tutorials using Microsoft's Visual 2005 Express Editions, the MSDN help is included in the download.
