Duke Nukem 3D Code Review

By February 15, 2013

Follow me on:

Fabien Sanglard who has covered in detail games from ID Software such as Doom 3, turned his hand to Duke Nukem 3D, the 90s Hit. Interestingly the 3D "Build" engine was written by an 18 year old Ken Silverman and it got him a game programming job.

If you're interested in how games are put together Fabiens's Code Reviews are great reading, especially as he has cleaned up the source code and produced a "chocolate" version (link to the that is on the reviews 4th page). If you have the original game graphics and game files you can either build his version and run it or download the binaries he has compiled for Windows and Mac.
