C# Tutorial on Winforms Published

Tuesday June 23, 2009
The new tutorial is an introduction to Winforms, the technology used to create GUI applications for .NET in C#.

If you have ever done GUI development in Win 32 languages like Visual Basic (VB6) or Delphi then you'll feel very comfortable and get up to speed fast. Fundamentally there is little difference between developing forms for those and WinForms. You drop controls on a form, set properties and write code for event handlers. It includes two examples that show how to create a simple quadratic equation solving calculator.

There will be at least one more tutorial on Winforms ( all those advanced controls! ) but I'm back to C again now and the next tutorial will be on handling text files. As you may have noticed, about.com has improved the layout and I didn't realize that I can click on pictures in the tutorial to see the bigger version. I'll update those tomorrow.
