Global Optimization - An E-Book

Thomas Weise, a researcher and PhD candidate at the University of Kassel has published a free 585 page e-book (with over a hundred pages of references!) on the subject of Global Optimization. This is a general term for classification and explanation of optimization algorithms, such as evolutionary algorithms, genetic algorithms, genetic programming, evolution strategy, ant colony and particle swarm optimization and much more etc.

There's a fair bit of maths but if you've an interest in any of this I recommend it. The breadth of coverage is excellent and it also covers beginners stuff such as probability, stochastic theory, statistical tests and generating random numbers. As always there's a permanent link.
