#develop also known as SharpDevelop is a free IDE for developing applications in C# on .NET. It's open source and the full source and executables are available free from icsharpcode
The authors also wrote the Wrox published book "Dissecting a C# Application" which is about what goes on inside SharpDevelop. Apress and Wiley bought up the rights to Wrox books when the owner of Wrox, Peer Information Group was sold off. Thanks to Apress, this book is available as a free download, along with source code and an extra "lost" chapter. You'll find those on the icsharpcode website. Don't forget to check out their wiki for errata!
